Variable refractory lithophile element compositions of planetary building blocks: Insights from components of enstatite chondrites

چکیده

Chondrites are sediments of materials left over from the earliest stage solar system history. Based on their undifferentiated nature and less fractionated chemical compositions, chondrites widely considered to represent unprocessed building blocks terrestrial planets embryos. Models composition generally find chondritic relative abundances refractory lithophile elements (RLE) in bulk bodies ("constant RLE ratio rule"), based limited variations ratios among meteorites photosphere. Here, we show that RLE, such as Nb/Ta, Zr/Hf, Sm/Nd Al/Ti, value chondrules enstatite (EC). The individual EC document different chalcophile affinities under highly reducing environments a separation RLE-bearing sulfides silicates before and/or during chondrule formation. In contrast, have solar-like ratios, indicating physical sorting was negligible accretion parent bodies. Likewise, if Earth's were dominated by EC-like materials, supported multiple isotope systematics, accretionary disk should not occurred blocks. Alternatively, precursors might been high-temperature nebular condensed fractionation due precipitation sulfides...Highly reduced experienced selective removal or metal/sulfide phases, Mercury, fractionated, non-solar ratios.

Possible impact-induced refractory-lithophile fractionations in EL chondrites

Literature data show that refractory-lithophile elements in most chondrite groups are unfractionated relative to CI chondrites; the principal exception is the EL-chondrite group whose observed falls (all of which are type 6) are depleted in Ca and light REE. In contrast, literature data and our new INAA data on EL3 PCA 91020, EL3 MAC 88136 and EL4 Grein 002 show that some replicates of these sa...

Differences in mean densities of the terrestrial planets have long been interpreted as inferring differences in the major elem

Major element fractionation among chondrites has been discussed for decades as ratios relative to Si or Mg. Expressing ratios relative to Fe leads to a new relationship admitting the possibility that ordinary chondrite meteorites are derived from two components: one is a relatively undifferentiated, primitive component, oxidized like the CI or C1 chondrites; the other is a somewhat differentiat...
